Experience the Habour

  • Discover Copenhagen’s iconic harborfront, where history, innovation, and sustainable design converge. Once industrial, the waterfront has been reimagined as a vibrant urban space with award-winning bicycle bridges and striking architecture.

The harbor’s transformation illustrates how cities can balance heritage, public access, and climate resilience. Moving from busy districts to calm open areas, this tour shows how Copenhagen reshaped its connection to the water, making it accessible, attractive, and people-centered.

Diverse Nørrebro

  • Nørrebro is Copenhagen’s most diverse and dynamic neighborhood. A district that has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent decades. Once known for industrial character and social tensions, it is today a hub of cultural life, cycling innovation, and inclusive public spaces.

This tour explores how urban design and community engagement have shaped Nørrebro’s development. From the award-winning Superkilen Park and bicycle streets to traffic-calmed areas and vibrant squares, we examine how planning, politics, and activism have redefined the neighborhood. Water & Urban Resilience

  • Copenhagen is internationally recognized for its climate adaptation projects. On this tour, you’ll explore cloudburst boulevards, floodable parks, and resilient waterfronts that double as public amenities.

We discuss the design strategies, public participation and cross-sector collaborations that make these projects possible. Participants gain insight into how blue-green infrastructure delivers climate protection while enhancing biodiversity, recreation, and urban quality of life.

Nordhavn

  • Discover Copenhagen’s newest waterfront district Nordhavn. Once an industrial harbor, it is now one of Europe’s largest urban development projects, designed to house 40,000 residents and provide 40,000 jobs. With its canals, sustainable mobility strategies, and ambitious energy goals, Nordhavn is a living laboratory of future city-making.

This tour explores how the district combines concepts like the 5-minute city, density, climate adaptation, and high architectural ambitions. Participants will learn about the governance and infrastructure decisions that shape Nordhavn, and the challenges of creating an entirely new neighborhood while maintaining livability and accessibility.

Malmø

  • Across the Øresund Bridge, just 40 minutes from Copenhagen by train, Malmö has redefined itself as a model of sustainable urban transformation. Once an industrial shipyard city, it has turned its harborfront into vibrant residential and cultural districts that reflect both bold vision and social ambition.

This tour explores flagship projects like Bo01, one of Europe’s first large-scale sustainable housing districts, as well as the city’s Summer Streets program and the ongoing transition of its industrial harbor. Participants experience Malmö’s experimental approaches to housing, public space, and climate resilience and gain comparative insights into how Scandinavian cities tackle similar challenges in different ways.

Transformative Vesterbro

  • Vesterbro is a striking example of urban change. From working-class and industrial roots to one of Copenhagen’s most attractive districts. Once associated with declining industries and social challenges, Vesterbro has become a showcase of regeneration, gentrification, and cultural vibrancy.

This tour examines the forces that have shaped Vesterbro’s transformation. We explore the adaptive reuse of Carlsbergbyen, the renewal of former red-light districts, and the balance between preserving authenticity and accommodating new growth. Participants gain insight into the complexities of gentrification, community engagement, and sustainable urban renewal.

Ørestad

  • Ørestad represents one of Copenhagen’s boldest planning experiments. Built along the metro line, the district showcases large-scale architecture, mixed-use planning, and ambitious density goals — but also the debates and controversies of modern urban development.

On this tour, we discuss the successes and shortcomings of Ørestad as a new city district. From iconic landmarks like the Mountain Dwellings and 8 House to questions of livability, mobility, and community, the tour provides a nuanced picture of what it takes to build a city from scratch.

The area combines preserved industrial buildings and cultural landmarks with bold contemporary architecture and new public spaces.

This tour dives into the challenges and opportunities of reimagining an industrial site at city scale. We explore how heritage protection, modern design, and high urban density are balanced, and discuss the governance, investment, and planning processes that shape such a transformation. Participants gain insights into how industrial heritage can become the foundation for new urban life.

  • Yes and no. Many groups prefer that we arrange all practical details, including tickets for metro, S-trains, harbor ferries, and buses, so the logistics are taken care of and everything runs smoothly. However, some groups prefer to buy their own tickets or travel passes for the duration of their stay - we are flexible and happy to adapt.

When it comes to bicycles, participants are responsible for arranging their own. We do not provide bikes directly, but we are glad to recommend and help you locate reliable local rental services that fit your group’s needs.

Copenhagen’s public transport and cycling infrastructure are world-class, sustainable, and easy to use. Whether you travel by ferry across the harbor, ride the metro to a new district, or experience the city by bike, we make sure the journey supports and enhances your overall program.

  • Absolutely. Some of our most popular tours combine modes of transport — for example, taking the metro to Ørestad, cycling along Cykelslangen (the Bicycle Snake), and finishing with a harbor ferry to Nordhavn. This mix allows participants to experience Copenhagen’s integrated mobility system first-hand, seeing how cycling, transit, and walking connect seamlessly. We always adapt the route to your group’s preferences and physical comfort level.

  • Our tours are primarily offered in English and Danish, but we also collaborate with consultants who speak German, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Italian, among others. This gives us the flexibility to adapt programs to your group’s needs.

If your preferred language is not listed, we can often find a solution by working with our extended network or arranging interpreter support. Our goal is always to ensure that everyone can follow, engage, and get the most out of the experience.

  • Yes. Most of our guided tours in Copenhagen take place beyond the medieval town. Many of the city’s most innovative projects are located outside the historic core, and we regularly guide groups in Ørestad, Nordhavn, Amager, Vesterbro, Christianshavn, Nørrebro, and Frederiksberg, as well as selected sites across Greater Copenhagen.

We also arrange study visits in Sweden - especially in Malmö, just a 40-minute train ride from Copenhagen, giving participants a broader Scandinavian perspective on sustainable urban planning and design.

This wider scope allows groups to experience the full scale of initiatives shaping the next generation of urban living, from climate-resilient neighborhoods and bicycle infrastructure to large-scale mobility projects and new housing models.
